Echuca
                                                2011 By John Boom

Echuca is located on the mighty Murray River, which in its time was a bustling port for
riverboats. Today some of the river boats remain but as tourist travel attractions.
The town itself is tourism oriented and is a very popular destination for travellers along
the Murray River.

The town itself has many historic period buildings combined with modern as well. There’
s plenty of shopping to do and then you can stroll down to the docks and have a ride
on one of the several riverboats that grace the area.

A section of the town near the docks has been transformed into a tourism type period
village with many buildings reflecting the period back to the riverboat days. It’s all free
to stroll around the port area unlike many other recreated tourism areas.
There’s also a strip shopping area in front of the port area that also has many
interesting shopping stores for you to explore.
